Originally, BlastEm was built against SDL 1.2 which just gave you raw access to whatever joystick/gamepad data the OS provided. Got it, it's working now.Īh I see, the d-pad is an analog axis and not a hat. Oh, I see! The axes for DInput controllers have to be stated as numbers, so in this case 1 for Y-axis, 0 for X. I've also used a tool () to create a mapping that mirrors my Retroarch setup, and it produced this string:Ġ3000000b40400000a01000000000000,USB Gamepad,platform:Windows,a:b1,b:b2,x:b0,y:b4,start :b8,leftshoulder:b3,rightshoulder:b5,dpup:-a1,dpdown:+a1,dpleft:-a0,dpright:+a0,lefttrigger:b6,righttrigger:b7,Īdding that to the gamecontrollerdb.txt file seems to do nothing, however.ĮDIT: Oh. The buttons were mapped to what I assume were DirectInput numbers (0 - 8). Should be easy enough to fix.Ī couple of things if they're helpful. Looking at my code, I don't think I properly handle that scenario. I wonder if it's one of those weird controllers that lists the d-pad directions as normal buttons in its descriptor rather than as a hat switch. That suggests there is actually an SDL2 controller mapping for it, which is the usual problem.
So any suggestions on what is a good reliable emulator that works on Windows 10 would be GREAT! I've researched and can't seem to find any other than people saying the same damn things over and over again. A lot of these older emulators just don't seem to like Windows 10 for whatever reason, at least not on my system. Or maybe there is something I need to do to get it running properly in Windows 10? I feel like I've tried it all to no avail.Īny ideas? I've tried Gens also and have similar problems. I know this emulator is old and been around a long time, so I figure there may be a newer one out there that is better and more reliable. It is a jittery mess, on pretty much any setting, any resolution, windowed mode/fullscreen (windowed is worse bizarrely) VSYNC on or off, etc. My issue is that ever since I upgraded to Windows 10, Kega Fusion has never run smoothly. Generally I don't use emulators much, but sometimes it is easier to capture the exact footage I need with the help of save states etc. However, it is still a worthy download, especially if you love retro gaming.Ok, this is a dumb newb question, but I am frustrated beyond belief with Kega Fusion so I am in need of a more reliable emulator. The only major issue with this version of Kega Fusion for the windows is its compatibility with the newest version of Windows (VISTA) as this one still depends on the outdated Windows 95 version. The color palette used is also different, probably because of the Genesis, but this one doesn't look that bad as it's not that different from any other Genesis game. Some of the differences that are worth mentioning include the fact that there are no longer any sound effects, just the standard music that is featured on most versions of the game. The major difference however lies in the fact that it is optimized for Windows use, while the other version is more or less based on the Genesis emulator of the original arcade game. Like other retro gaming platforms, the Windows version of Kega Fusion emulates the classic games that were originally meant for the Genesis console. Unlike the Virtual Arcade, however, this one comes with a very authentic arcade cabinet and you can actually play the games in a real arcade room. Like the rest of the Virtual Arcade series, this one has been remade for the Linux operating system and runs on Vista.
It is Steve Snake's follow-up to the well-received Virtual Arcade, and is arguably the last great conversion software for the Windows operating system. It is an enhanced version of the classic arcade game emulated through the use of the Linux xBox environment. Kega Fusion, first and shortened as, and later known as, the Virtual Arcade Master System is an application designed for use with the Windows operating system. This is quite unusual for a beta program though. A number of reviews have already been written by users and they all rate it a five-star rating.
It has already garnered a lot of fans and is considered to be a high-end download for all Windows-based systems. The new version has been designed to run on Windows and has been given a beta status by publisher Sega.
Kega Fusion is an upgraded version of the well-known Sega Vintage Collections, a series of games which provided users with the option of playing classic arcade games on their computers.
